MOVING INTO MEDITATION
An Embodied Movement Series
Inspired by music and creativity, this slow-moving, gentle movement class will provide participants access to relaxation and meditation through movement. Participants will learn simple, slow movement sequences and then be encouraged to gradually and gently integrate these sequences into their own bodies in a way that feels organic and safe. Global music, movement and breath will combine to inspire, cultivate and sustain energy so that the individual may enter into a deep state of embodied awareness and relaxation. All are welcome, no experience necessary.
Tuesdays beginning April 11th: 7:30-8:30 pm
$20 drop in fee
Location: 7995 NE Day Rd. West, Bainbridge Island, 98110 / Castor Fitness
Moving into Meditation has been coming to fruition since my childhood. It's in my bones, my body and my heart and soul. I grew up on Oyster Bay, just outside of Shelton WA, where I first began to navigate the world as a young dancer. I played in the water, schlepped through mud and danced amongst the trees. My parents had an amazing record collection of global music. I played those records whenever I wanted, and I danced and I danced and I danced. Music has always been inextricably tied to my development as a movement artist and as a human. Over the years it has given me a magical foundation from which to develop a practice of moving meditation that I’d like to share with you.
